ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
It’s hard to believe it’s the end of term 2. We are halfway through the school year!
As we wrap up Term 2, we want to take a moment to celebrate the fantastic efforts and achievements of our students over the past 10 weeks. It’s been a term full of learning, growth, and community spirit!
Sports Day Highlights
Our annual Sports Day was a tremendous success! The students showed incredible enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship across a variety of events. From sprints and relays to long jump and shotput. It was inspiring to see everyone giving their best and cheering others on. Thank you to all the families who came out to support. Your encouragement made the day even more special. We are proud of every child’s participation and effort, regardless of the results. Well done to Erldunda who won the day.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. Throughout the year, our teachers have been working to accurately document and assess the adjustments provided to support student learning. This data helps us ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially. If you have any questions about the NCCD or how it relates to your child, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to an exciting Term 3. The calendar is already filling up with school photos, swimming and the school concert. Keep an eye out in the newsletter and Facebook page for term 3 updates.
Wishing you a safe and restful holiday break!
Kind regards,
Megan

LARAPINTA PRIMARY SCHOOL BREAKFAST PROGRAM – SUPPORTED BY FOODBANK
Foodbank SA & NT’s School Breakfast Program helps to provide healthy, nutritious food to children who may come to school hungry. The provision of a nutritious breakfast at school means that children can fill their rumbling tummies, feel better from eating good food and be healthy and happy.
Having a good breakfast can assist with:
- Students engaging in class better with a full stomach
- Students demonstrating greater persistence and resilience for learning
- Improvements to learning, attention span and behaviour
- Providing a safe environment and keeping students focussed
- Improving student attendance at school
ALL students are welcome to come to the canteen window (near the courts) from 8:10 – 8:30am daily to have Weetbix and/or fruit for breakfast. There is no cost for families. For more information, please contact the front office.
PRESCHOOL NEWS
Werte from Preschool
Week 10 is here – the end of another busy term at preschool.
Over the term we have celebrated many milestones Werte with the children, from learning to ride bikes, writing their name for the first time, overcoming fears and challenges, achieving their social and learning goals, connecting and building new friendships, trying new activities and of course having lots of fun learning through play along the way. We look forward to extending on this learning and offering new challenges next term.

Larapinta Preschool has been approved to take part in the next stage of the Preschool Outcomes Measure – National Applied Trial. The Preschool Outcomes Measure is a formative assessment tool designed to help teachers and educators gain a deeper understanding of children’s learning progress the year before full-time school. The tool is designed to seamlessly integrate into play-based learning environments and align with the Early Years Learning Framework and other equivalent frameworks. It supports teachers and educators to make informed planning and teaching decisions and tailor learning experiences to each child’s development. It is very exciting that we will be one of the first to use and implement the tool with the children and we will be able to give feedback to support the final product. There will be more information to come in Term 3.

We have been collecting some of the children’s artwork and creations to enter in the Alice Springs Show. If you are going to the show, don’t forget to check out the displays in Rumball Hall.
.

We hope all our children and families have a great 3-week holiday, and we will be back ready to go on Tuesday 15th July.

FaFT Excursion
Recently, our FaFT families enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Araluen Park, where children had the opportunity to play, explore the outdoor play equipment, and connect with nature. It was a great morning filled with active learning, social interaction, and discovery—key elements in early childhood development. Through play, children develop important physical skills, strengthen social connections, and build confidence in new environments. The shared lunch that followed encouraged a sense of community and belonging among families, reinforcing the value of relationships in a child’s learning journey.

FaFT Fun
Messy play isn’t just fun – it’s brain-building magic. When babies and young children dig in sand, squish mud, and make “cakes,” they’re exploring, creating, and wiring their brains for life.
These joyful moments are full of sensory wonder, motor skill development, and imaginative play. This is what learning looks like in the early years.

FaFT Closed Dates
Our last day of Term 2 will be this Friday, 20th June. We'll be taking a short break and look forward to welcoming all our little learners back when we return on Tuesday, 15th July.
Wishing all our families a safe and restful holiday!
